Official public holidays in 2025
According to the production calendar approved by the government, the following are non-working days in 2025:
- January 1 (Wednesday) — New Year's Day.
- March 8 (Saturday) — International Women's Day.
- An additional day off is moved to March 10 (Monday).
- March 21 (Friday) — Navruz (the spring festival).
- Forms a three-day weekend (March 21–23).
- March 31 (Monday) — Ruza Khayit (Eid al-Fitr), the first day after the holy month of Ramadan.
- May 9 (Friday) — Day of Memory and Honor.
- June 7 (Saturday) — Kurban Khayit (Eid al-Adha).
- An extra day off is moved to June 9 (Monday).
- September 1 (Monday) — Independence Day.
- October 1 (Wednesday) — Teachers' and Mentors' Day.
- December 8 (Monday) — Constitution Day.
Important! The dates of the religious holidays (Ruza Khayit and Kurban Khayit) are based on the lunar calendar and may be adjusted by official decree.
Additional days off and transfers. In 2025 several public holidays fall on weekends or are joined to them, creating extended rest periods. Important transfers and compensations:
- January 2 (Thursday): a day off transferred from Saturday January 4 (for the five-day work week).
- March 10 (Monday): compensation for March 8 falling on Saturday.
- June 9 (Monday): transfer because of Kurban Khayit.
- March 22 and 28, May 6–7: dates may be clarified to form long weekends.

Shortened working days. The day before public holidays the work day is shortened by 1 hour. For example, March 30 (the day before Ruza Khayit). Seasonal specifics
- New Year's holidays: for the five-day work week, time off may run from December 28, 2024 to January 2, 2025.
- Summer holidays: in June the holiday weekend stretches from June 7 to June 9 (Kurban Khayit).
- Autumn weekend: September 1 (Independence Day) joins with the August 30–31 weekend, allowing for a short break at the end of summer.
Important nuances
- Provisional status: The calendar may be adjusted by Presidential decree. Watch the news and official sources.
- Company specifics: Some organizations may follow their own transfer schedules — the main thing is to comply with the Labor Code.
